2003 Biennale Internazionale Dell' Arte Contemporanea, Florence, Italy
Ms. Schwartz was invited to exhibit her work at the Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea of Florence, Italy. The Biennale is one of the most comprehensive, international contemporary art exhibitions in the world. Celebrating cultural diversity, the Biennale features over 800 artists from 74 countries. The fourth edition of the Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea di Firenze took place from December 6 to 14, 2003 in the historical Fortezza da Basso. The international artists who met in Florence during the nine days of the Biennale to exhibit their most recent work compared techniques and experiences through an enriched program of collateral activities including performances, conferences, concerts, and special events. Participation in the Biennale was by nomination only and the artists were selected solely on the basis of the merit of their works, with no prejudices as to style, theme or artistic movement. An international panel of jurists critiqued the artists.
